 | Yogizilla is a 29 year old guy in a relationship from New York, New York, USA. I'm just an average Joe looking to provide sound advice to others. In a few words, I'd consider myself a life-long learner and hopeless romantic. I love good conversation and networking. The web excites me because it continues to be home to some of the best easter eggs, knowledge, and collaborative projects. With the days of BBS and Usenet behind us (mostly), this is really the best option. If you know any sites with business/marketing knoweldge, useful tools, weird stuff, rarities, cult classics, oddities, or just plain geeky stuff, we GOTTA talk! I myself have my hands in a lot of exciting projects right now and have come across some spiffy stuff throughout my adventures so, if you are curious, just ask! ^_^ |
 - Speedtest - how fast are you?
Nov 27, 2007 2:57pm (277 reviews) online-games, geek, speed-typing, deliocioso http://speedtest.10-fast-fingers.com/- Cool site to see how fast your "touch typing" skills are. I am doped up on post-op meds and I hit around 450 characters, 80 or so words. I know I can do better as my high is around 140-160 WPM.
The tricky thing about this is focusing on one word at a time. I skipped around a few times the first time around and got a few words wrong cause of that. I think it happened because my intuitive mind was trying to connect words that made sense together. Sentence fragments irk me. Haha
I wonder how everyone's typing speed and accuracy changes when they are typing actual prose, fragments like these, or off the top of their head. I reckon the foremost and latter are easier than random collections of words. I see that others made the same observations. I'm a writer so it's even more difficult to write non-sensical things in this manner. I lose a few seconds each chunk easily. 8)

This medley of silly cats is quite worthwhile. Even if you do not like these fun lil feral friends, you should get a chuckle or two! My favorite part, so far, is the black-and-white cat walking the fence. Reminds me of the late-great Buddy.. Miss ya', you crazy mofo! Hope you're keeping your tux clean!! =oD

I had to LMAO when I saw the typical cheezburger-style photo captions. The old man with his hot young Indian wife asking to have his boner ignored.. Brilliant toilet humor! Here is one of my favorites so far because it shows how important marketing is and, furthermore, how placement is everything (along with positioning, of course)...
Great collection of stumbles and I guess it's no mere coincidence that a lot of us Northeasters appreciate your selections. I see quite a few fellow New Yorkers showing some love. Thanks for checking out my stumbles or else I may have missed your page!
Stumble on, brotha!
*waves at akdesign, emilym, and Bonbell, just for the heck of it*
 - Anywhere.FM
Sep 6, 2007 2:35pm (107 reviews) music, social-media, deliocioso http://www.anywhere.fm/- I'm not sure who sent this stumble my way but great find! Take the social media trend, combine it with music sharing, and you got yourself Anywhere.FM! It seems like there are many sites like this popping up but the interface on this one is quite cool plus you get to upload your own songs, which is a BIG plus.
I like the fact that the free songs are all mostly garage bands. There are some bugs but I think it's being worked out. Definitely worth checking it out. Sadly, as some others have mentioned, it is only time before the legal "boffins" mess with yet another great online community resource! 8)
 - Brilliant But Cancelled
May 29, 2007 4:22pm (4 reviews) tv, geek, hidden-gems, deliocioso http://www.brilliantbutcancelled.com/- I'd like to quote Jaya on her review of this site and the emotions it incites...
Almost everyone of my favorite television shows have been cancelled:
1. Wonderfalls (Unbelievable! Fantastic! Get it on DVD!)
2. Dead Like Me (FYI: Same dude who created Wonderfalls)
3. Firefly (Shed a tear)
4. Arrested Development (Underestimated and underrated)
5. Popular (say what you will -- it was great)
6. Mission Hill (great cartoon that you should have watched)
7. Freaks and Geeks (I hate you for not supporting it!)
8. Alias (but, towards the end, it did deserve to die.)
9. Futurama (dude, robots)
Personally, I avoid television for this very reason. Some shows are dragged on beyond their peak and do not die off honorably while others are killed off pre-emptively. Can there not be a peaceful middleground?
Firefly and Dead Like Me definitely are two prime examples of great shows destroyed before their prime, especially when regarding the foremost (HUGE sci-fi fan here), IMHO. Alias was cool but it definitely needed to die at the end.. Sorta like Dark Angel! Futurama was, arguably better than The Simpsons. I still love The Simpsons but, with Futurama, you have Fry and his pursuit for his unrequitted love, then his buddy, the asshole robot always getting into trouble - you can't beat the on-screen chemistry! Throw in a crabby quack that eats anything, your stereotypical Asian princess, and a whole slew of dynamic characters and you have endless material to run with.. Too bad Groening said he didn't wnat to do it anymore. He had a very specific timeline from the start, apparently...
Mission Hill I did not like at first and then it grew onto me, much like The Oblongs. Thank goodness for channels that syndicate little gems like this! w00t! I'll end my rant for now but, I must say, I still long for my Firefly fix.. MMORPG maybe??

Apr 3, 2007 11:30am (28 reviews) stumblers, bizarre, geek, deliocioso http://bloodyapril.stumbleupon.com/- April has some very good random selections. I love the fact that she has focused on blogging more than just bumping up the same images we've all seen in the community. These are very content-driven stumbles and her descriptions have all the information with none of the fluff. I am tempted to put off my work to explore some of the many interesting links she has. Darn you, April!! *shakes fist* Did I mention she rawks cause her stumbles seem to be very geek-friendly?? Well, yes, there's that too! =oD
 - StumbleUpon - dusk2dawns web site reviews and blog
Apr 2, 2007 12:08pm (41 reviews) stumblers, geek, deliocioso http://dusk2dawn.stumbleupon.com/- The Gandhi quote coupled with the geek references made me happy. I'd like to see some of Dusk2dawn's comic selections but I am very happy with the stumbles thus far. BTW, Rachel Ray is cool and, who knows, this may really be her body...
It's a little-known fact that many professional cooks, chef or not, aren't fat. When you spend your day having little nibbles of food here and there, your metabolism is more tuned than when you binge after starving yourself all days. You have to keep that furnace going!
Even if this is not really her, she's a cutie and a sweetie. I'd help her lose her jelly rolls, hypothetically-speaking of course! Some will call her fat, I call her cuddly!! =oP
...BTW, we geeks love you too, Duskieeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! ^_^

Apr 1, 2007 3:47pm (1 review) humor, geek, life-advice, yogizilla, deliocioso http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseac...- My blog on MySpace takes a fun look at the many interesting things that life brings us. I delve into issues such identity theft, job hunting, corporate politics, ignorant people, and more. It's a lot more emotionally-charged and humorous than my more business-related blog on WordPress so I think many of you should enjoy it! Don't forget to leave some comments. =o)
Check out some of my music picks and don't be afraid to send me a friend request (just send me a short personalized message as well since I delete anything that resembles a bot on the spot)!
