 | Yogizilla is a 29 year old guy in a relationship from New York, New York, USA. I'm just an average Joe looking to provide sound advice to others. In a few words, I'd consider myself a life-long learner and hopeless romantic. I love good conversation and networking. The web excites me because it continues to be home to some of the best easter eggs, knowledge, and collaborative projects. With the days of BBS and Usenet behind us (mostly), this is really the best option. If you know any sites with business/marketing knoweldge, useful tools, weird stuff, rarities, cult classics, oddities, or just plain geeky stuff, we GOTTA talk! I myself have my hands in a lot of exciting projects right now and have come across some spiffy stuff throughout my adventures so, if you are curious, just ask! ^_^ |

Feb 5, 6:58pm (1 review) geek, digital-life, yogizilla, self-marketing, nt-marketing http://yogizilla.wordpress.com/- Yes.. It's a shameless plug but you lovely guys and gals don't seem to mind! I'd like to know who would like to read more about self marketing, particularly regarding career building, personal development, and such. Trying to figure out what to focus on more. All my stuff is loosely connected but I want to write about what appeals to y'all the most. Let's have some feedback! =oD
 - Speedtest - how fast are you?
Nov 27, 2007 2:57pm (277 reviews) online-games, geek, speed-typing, deliocioso http://speedtest.10-fast-fingers.com/- Cool site to see how fast your "touch typing" skills are. I am doped up on post-op meds and I hit around 450 characters, 80 or so words. I know I can do better as my high is around 140-160 WPM.
The tricky thing about this is focusing on one word at a time. I skipped around a few times the first time around and got a few words wrong cause of that. I think it happened because my intuitive mind was trying to connect words that made sense together. Sentence fragments irk me. Haha
I wonder how everyone's typing speed and accuracy changes when they are typing actual prose, fragments like these, or off the top of their head. I reckon the foremost and latter are easier than random collections of words. I see that others made the same observations. I'm a writer so it's even more difficult to write non-sensical things in this manner. I lose a few seconds each chunk easily. 8)

Sep 9, 2007 8:37am (63 reviews) architecture, books, geek, artistic-expression http://www.curiousexpeditions.org/2007/0...- Wow. This is an amazing find for many reasons. 40 others stumbled this before me and it's obvious why! Books are one of our greatest treasures (if not the greatest) as a civilized world and libraries are thus treasures in themselves. One has to sit back in awe, realizing just how many books there are out there - so much knowledge for the picking!
The architecture of these buildings is impressive. On the outside, libraries do not tend to be structurally or aesthetically seksy but the interiors.. WOW.. These buildings are like Toys'R'Us for life-long learners and, if you loved toys at any point in your life, that metaphor should do the trick for you. If not, sorry my hyperbole went to waste.. But look at these photos!!! =oD
Mmmmmm... Delicious and nutritious books! *eats a few pages of a nice hard-cover book and feels stronger* Sweet - a powerup for the mind! [o=
Please pass this stumble along, folks!

Sep 6, 2007 9:16pm (2 reviews) card-games, geek, zombies, fluxx, looney http://www.fluxxgames.com/zombiefluxx.ht...- Just got the e-mail from Kristin Looney confirming that everyone that is in their system right now will receive some free promo cards, officially starting the countdown 'til the launch.. The launch of what, you may ask? Well, Zombie Fluxx, of course!
Heyitsmejaya, if you see this, you simply MUST pick this up. It's a fun game and you can get your zombie fix. I don't see how you can go wrong here but let me know if I missed something. ;o)
Looney Labs is an awesome company because they have been around for over ten years and still remain a humble little gaming company, in spite of their great success. They are known for their Fluxx and Treehouse/Icehouse gaming systems, which accounts for thousands upon thousands of gaming possibilities, easily. Support a good papa-and-mama shop by pre-ordering Zombie Fluxx today and, if you so see fit, picking up some of the limited-edition promo cards they have available too!

Sep 6, 2007 10:36am (309 reviews) electronica, music-theory, geek, dj-tek http://www.thepixelplant.net/dmf/dmf.htm...- Synthesizers are always fun and, since I'm all about the electronic music, I have to give this beat-making toy big props! This simple little drum machine doesn't let you swap out the drum sets or sample sounds but you get a good amount of channels to work with and, as others have pointed out, just about anything you create here sounds good, even if you are not a music theory major or "classically trained" in any way. I like the simple BPM slidebar A LOT; with it, you can go from easy listening to happy hardcore in a blink of the eye... Very good, geeky fun, especially if you are a creative spirit like me and like to dabble in a bit of everything! =o]

Sep 4, 2007 4:04pm (525 reviews) chess, online-games, geek, strategist http://turbulence.org/spotlight/thinking...- Trippy indeed, Konata!! This reminds me of how chess may be if you are tripping on drugs and playing with glowing pieces in the darkness. Haha.. Really nipply, actually! Truly geek material here. Simple yet entertaining every step of the way.. Goes to show you that the ideas that work can be rehashed many times and still have some appeal! ;o)

This game is very user-friendly too - all you need to do is move the paddle around! The depth indicators make it easy to judge where the ball is going too.. w3rd!
