Now, "Ugly Betty" is all the rave now (though "Pushing Daisies" will surely move up in ratings) but it's not a mere overnight success. There's a history here, as you'll see in this piece by Tatiana Masis. The cast of the American rendition of "Betty La Fea" is lead by America Ferrara, a sweetheart latina that seems to have captivated many hearts since "Real Women Have Curves" and "Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants" were released. She has a great energy to her and, along with a cast consisting of Salma Hayek and friends, it's no wonder this is a big hit.. But is it better than the [Columbian] original?
